Do I need to pay to use ScriptReadr?
No, ScriptReadr is free to use, for up to 5 character lines and 5 scenes. Subscribe to Pro to get unlimited lines, ulimited saved scenes, PDF importing, the ability to share your scenes with friends, and to request line recordings!

Does ScriptReadr trim silence from recorded lines?
No, ScriptReadr keeps those in. This allows for additional beats before and after lines. If you want lines to start or end immediately, make sure you start and end your recordings quickly.

How does ScriptReadr know I've said my line?
ScriptReadr uses speech-to-text and in-house algorithms (no AI here!) to analyze what you've said, and determine if you've finished your line. It's very reliable, but if you're having consistent issues with a particular line, let me know about it!

Why does ScriptReadr move on in the scene when I didn't finish my line?
ScriptReadr allows for natural pauses in your speech while delivering a line, but it does have a 3 second timeout of silence. If you need to pause for more than 3 seconds, consider adding an Action block, and setting a delay!

I need a character to interrupt me. How do I do this?
If a character needs to interrupt you, trim the last few words from your line in the script. ScriptReadr will move on to the next character sooner, giving a natural interruption.

How do I get a friend to read other lines for me?
To have a friend read lines for you, you first need to add them as a friend in the app. Once they accept, you can go to the Scene > Share Scene > Record Access, and pick the characters you want them to read.

Do my friends have to pay to record lines for me?
No! It is completely free for your friends to record lines for you.

Can I import PDFs of my scripts / sides?
Yes! However, this is limited to Pro users. PDF works best when scripts are digital (not scanned pages), and have selectable text. Script PDFs tend to have different formatting per casting office, so manual editing is required after importing to ensure accuracy.

Can I record scenes through the app?
Not yet, but I am actively working on this! Soon, you'll have the ability to record your scenes while you perform them — all on your phone!
